Toyota Hollywood School Gardens Project Begins Plantings
Posted on: January 16, 2012
The Toyota of Hollywood School Gardens project continued to move forward last month as students from Helen Bernstein High School along with members of the LAcarGUY family and LA Conservation Corps planted the first seedlings of the garden. The students helped plant a variety of vegetables including cucumbers, jalapenos and bell peppers.

The Garden beds will be completely full next month when the students team up with a member of Environmental Media Association’s (EMA) Young Hollywood Board for a full day of planting. LAcarGUY and Toyota of Hollywood are extremely proud to partner with EMA on this great cause!

Community and the environment are a priority for LAcarGUY, and that is why we have sponsored an urban school garden at Helen Bernstein High School as part of Environmental Media Association 's (EMA) School Garden Program. The goal of the LAcarGUY garden is to teach and motivate children via hands-on experience, while creating a connection with nature and an appreciation of where food comes from. In addition, one of EMA's Young Hollywood board members ("i.e." Amy Smart, Olivia Wilde, Rosario Dawson, Lance Bass) will be recruited to mentor and actively engage the students.
