Learn About Electrified Toyota Models at Toyota of Hollywood, Los Angeles

Toyota manufactures some of the most well-rounded vehicles available, offering an excellent blend of comfort, safety, reliability, and value. And with an appealing model in each of the most popular segments, the Toyota lineup has something for everyone. As an industry mainstay, Toyota embraces its responsibility to help lead the transition to a more sustainable future by offering a diverse and growing roster of alternative-fuel nameplates. And they're available to drivers from Sherman Oaks to Pasadena here at Toyota of Hollywood.

Toyota Hybrids and PHEVs

Toyota hybrids give you the freedom to go the distance, allowing you to use less fuel and travel farther on a single tank of gas. A standard hybrid uses an electric motor and battery to assist the engine during situations like ignition, stop-starting, and low-speed acceleration. The electric motor also acts as a generator, charging the battery via the engine and through regenerative braking-harvesting the energy typically lost to deceleration.

A plug-in hybrid (PHEV) functions similarly to a standard hybrid but with a larger electric powertrain. The increased battery capacity requires plugging in to operate at maximum performance and efficiency; however, the vehicle can function just fine on gas alone. A major difference between hybrids and PHEVs is the latter's ability to operate in electric-only mode. Depending on the battery size and the length of your Glendale commute, a PHEV could allow you to go several days without using a drop of gas.

Toyota Prius and Prius Prime

An alternative-fuel icon, the Toyota Prius remains a popular choice for drivers seeking excellent efficiency, versatility, and value. The base Eco trim equips a 1.8-liter four-cylinder hybrid powertrain with an EPA-estimated 56 mpg combined for an impressive 633 miles of total range. The all-wheel-driving Prius AWD-e drops slightly to an EPA rating of 49 mpg (519-mile range).

If you'd like to experience the EV lifestyle without committing fully to battery power, the Toyota Prius Prime PHEV allows you to cut combustion out of the equation for your trip to Griffith Park while still having gas as an option. It offers an EPA-rated 133 MPGe (miles-per-gallon equivalent), 25 miles of electric-only range, and can travel an estimated 640 miles on a single tank.

Toyota Corolla Hybrid

A proven reputation for efficiency, comfort, practicality, and value has earned the Toyota Corolla the title of the world's best-selling vehicle. Fuel economy gets even better in Corolla's hybrid variant, with an EPA-estimated 52 mpg combined and a total range of ~593 miles.

Toyota Camry Hybrid

Like its Corolla sibling, the midsize Toyota Camry is one of the most well-rounded options in its class. It delivers impressively spacious seating accommodations, a smooth ride, and a generous assortment of features. Camry's available 2.5-liter hybrid engine achieves an EPA-estimated 52 mpg in its base LE configuration for 686 miles of total range. Higher-equipped tiers (SE/XLE/XSE) are a little heavier, dropping their EPA rating to 46 mpg (607-mile range).

Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and RAV4 Prime

A quintessential compact crossover, the Toyota RAV4 offers a roomy cabin, comfortable seats, and up to 70 cubic feet of max cargo space. It also delivers capable performance and impressive fuel economy, especially in its two electrified variants. The 219-horsepower RAV4 Hybrid comes standard with AWD and achieves an EPA-estimated 40 mpg (~580-mile range).

If you're seeking something with even more power and efficiency, the 302-horsepower plug-in hybrid RAV4 Prime has you covered. An 18.1-kWh battery pack gives the RAV4 Prime an EPA-rated 94 MPGe and 42 miles of electric-only range. The RAV4 Prime is also one of Toyota's quickest nameplates, with a zero-to-60 time of just ~5.5 seconds.

Toyota Venza

Classy accommodations, a smooth ride, and a loaded features roster make the Toyota Venza a compelling option for Los Angeles families seeking to enhance their daily drives. Venza comes standard with an all-wheel-driving 219-horsepower hybrid powertrain with an EPA-estimated rating of 39 mpg combined (566-mile range).

Toyota Highlander Hybrid

With its plush cabin, a full suite of standard driving aids, and up to 85 cubic feet of cargo space, the Toyota Highlander Hybrid is an excellent choice for larger Pasadena families seeking extra space and seatbelts without sacrificing fuel efficiency. The Highlander Hybrid's 243-horsepower powertrain achieves an EPA-estimated 36 mpg (616-mile range)-impressive for a larger three-row model. And if you add the surefooted control of all-wheel drive, fuel economy only drops to 35 mpg (598-mile range).

Toyota Sienna Hybrid

While SUVs have been the most popular vehicle type for a while, the tried-and-true minivan is still king when it comes to ultimate family-friendly versatility. And the Toyota Sienna is one of the best in the business, with spacious seating, cavernous cargo capacity, and appealing amenities. And beginning in 2022, Sienna exclusively equips a 243-horsepower hybrid powertrain with an EPA-estimate 36 mpg (648-mile range) in FWD or 35 mpg in AWD (630-mile range).

Toyota EVs

By removing gasoline from the equation altogether, electric vehicles (EVs) offer reduced ownership costs and a smaller environmental impact. Electric motors are far more efficient than combustion engines in converting their energy source to wheel power, making EVs significantly cheaper and cleaner to operate per mile. And since sealed electric motors don't require many common service items like oil changes, EVs can help cut down on maintenance costs as well.

Toyota bZ4X

The Toyota bZ4X is a fully electric compact crossover offered in two layouts. Front-wheel-drive models equip a single electric motor producing 201 horsepower and 196 pound-feet of torque with an EPA-estimated range of 252 miles (119 MPGe) in its base trim or 242 miles (114 MPGe) in its Limited trim. Dual-motor AWD models make 214 horsepower and 248 lb-ft and achieve an EPA-estimated 228 (104 MPGe) or 222 (102 MPGe) miles or range in the base and Limited tiers, respectively.

The bZ4X can charge overnight in approximately 9.5 hours with Level 2 (240-volt) equipment. At a DC fast-charging station, you can charge from Low Battery Light to ~80% in ~30 minutes for FWD models and ~60 minutes for AWD models.
